    I would encourage you to buy a nice used American car. You can get a great deal on a 2004 Ford Focus and get a solid, dependable, reliable vehicle that gets great gas mileage. Obviously you don’t want to spend money now, but soon.

    Even if your old car costs you 3k in repair this year, consider how much a new one would depreciate at the same time. From an economic point of view, old cars are usually the better choice.
