Did you try striking the matches and then setting them to the gasoline-soaked tissue paper? That might help.

I took it into the apple store, where they handed me a replacement. So I’ve gone through (retail cost) ~$750 of iPod in a week. I can’t imagine that this kind of reliability issue is cheap for Apple.
