Similar experience. Loved the old Walkman. I bought a Sony Hi MD recorder to record owl voices and have never been more disappointed in a product. And consumer help was non-existent.

I get Sony commercials on e-mail, and I keep them coming becuase it is so satisfying to delete them.

this was unbelievably helpful. I live in a rental and the landlords handyman is about 80 and i didn’t want him trying to get under the sink. They probably would have just replaced the faucet. You’ve saved them a bunch of money and me a bunch of aggravation in having to deal with them. Thank you so much. Also, a tip for removing the diverter: a very skinny pair of needle-nose pliers will fit in the teeth of the diverter allowing it to be removed with a little more ease.

I dislike eMusic’s 30-day and no reminder policy as well. But for the record this isn’t a 1.4% over-charge as you claim, for the simple reason that you’re subscribing for credits (or, now, monetary credit) and not a service. You get the same amount of credit for the same price in 360 days that you would have gotten in 365.

The couple of times I’ve lost a month’s worth of credit (over the 4 years I’ve been subscribed), I emailed them and politely asked for the credit back and they did so, as a “courtesy” they said, and I suppose it was. And since they refuse to have an email reminder system, I have a Google calendar reminder, which neatly lets you choose “Every 30 days” as a repeat option. Anyways, that’s my setup and I hope it helps someone.

I couldn’t agree with you more on the Sony products… I used to be strictly a Sony guy with my walkman and stereo’s, but now I just can’t do it. On a note I find that Samsung is becoming the new version of Sony with more quality products (If purchased from somewhere other than Wal-Mart). Just for fun I also used to enjoy the Sony commercials. Particularly the “Sony. Because Caucasians are just too damn tall” tag line from a lesser known production.

Personally, the only time I can write at all is in those moments of inspiration. If I have to force something out of my skull and onto the page in front of me, I am never satisfied with it. It always gets revised or trashed. I respect those among us who can manufacture something creative through sheer willpower and adhering to a schedule. If I could learn to do that, I could write something longer than 20 pages. Well, maybe.

I started checking out USSM in part due to the quality baseball conversation that I can’t here in the UK, and partly because it’s cool that someone I went to elementary school with had such a massive internet presence. The baseball chat kept me coming back every day, and I’ll certainly miss the voice of succinct reason. Thanks, man.
