What I did on my summer vacation, part 1

Posted in Uncategorized at 12:49 am by DMZ

From departure from Seattle to arrival back here, I read:

Fade Away, Harlan Coben
American Gods, Neal Gaiman
Neverwhere, Neal Gaiman
War and Peace, Leo Tolstoy
The Praxis, Walter Jon Williams
The Sundering, Walter Jon Williams
Doomsday Book, Connie Willis

I may be missing one or two. I’ll update this if I remember.

    Hiya Derek,

Just discovered your personal blog, here. Neat! Anyway, it looks like we’ve got similar reading tastes; I enjoyed American Gods, and WJW’s “Aristoi” is in my all time SF/F top ten. I’ve been thinking about picking up that Praxis series by him — would you recommend it?

BTW, apropos of nothing, a couple of weeks ago I saw Vernor Vinge speak on a space exploration panel at the Sci Fi Museum. I had to reorient my brain after a decade-plus of mispronouncing his name to rhyme with “cringe,” when it actually rhymes with “stingy.” I don’t know why I felt like sharing this, except that it’s late and I’m bored. ;)

    Cheers,
    Chris Colón
